How much does AC installation cost?

Installation pricing varies with system type, capacity, ductwork state, electrical demands, and efficiency rating. Central air typically costs more initially than single-zone ductless but often provides better whole-home value. After an on-site evaluation, we deliver a fixed, itemized quote outlining exactly what’s covered–no hidden charges or surprises.

What is HVAC repair versus AC repair?

HVAC repair addresses the complete heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system including airflow, ventilation components, and integrated controls. AC repair focuses specifically on cooling performance. In Florida’s climate, most service calls involve cooling issues, but we diagnose the entire system to ensure proper operation.

Do you service condos and high-rises in Fort Lauderdale?

Yes, we work with condo associations and high-rise buildings throughout the city. We coordinate with building management regarding access, parking, and service windows. Our technicians understand the protocols for working in multi-unit properties and can navigate rooftop equipment areas or mechanical rooms as needed.

Should I install AC myself or hire professionals?

While technically possible, self-installation is rarely advisable. Proper setup requires handling electricity, refrigerant, permits, sizing calculations, and airflow balancing. Errors can damage equipment, void warranties, increase operating costs, or create safety hazards. Licensed professionals ensure safe, efficient installation with full warranty protection.

How long does AC installation take?

Most residential projects finish within one day once permits clear. Larger properties, duct modifications, or electrical upgrades may extend timing. We establish clear expectations upfront and maintain communication throughout so your air conditioning installation project proceeds smoothly.

What are the signs I need refrigerant leak repair?

If your system is not cooling well and the refrigerant level is low, you likely need refrigerant leak repair because refrigerant should not be consumed. Common signs include longer run times, ice on the coil or lines, higher indoor humidity, and repeated need to add refrigerant.

When should I consider heat pump installation in Fort Lauderdale?

Heat pump installation makes sense when an older system needs frequent repairs or struggles with humidity control in high-use coastal conditions. A properly sized heat pump can provide both heating and cooling and improve comfort consistency in homes and condos.

AC Repair Fort Lauderdale: Reading the Symptom Correctly

AC repair in Fort Lauderdale almost always begins the same way. Nothing quits outright at first. It changes how it sounds, how it smells, or how much of the property it manages to hold – and then it stops.

One symptom usually points to several possible faults, and they are nowhere near each other in cost. That is why AC repair Fort Lauderdale homeowners call us for starts with a diagnosis and a written price, not a guess over the phone.

Air conditioning repair Fort Lauderdale properties need in August is rarely the repair the owner expected. Fort Lauderdale air conditioning repair put off through a warm spring becomes a larger invoice by summer, and AC repair in Fort Lauderdale gets slower to book as the season peaks.

What the Symptom Usually Means

Warm air, system clearly running. The shortlist is a refrigerant leak, a dead capacitor, a condenser coil packed with dirt, or an evaporator coil frozen solid. Same complaint, four invoices that look nothing alike – air conditioner repair Fort Lauderdale owners assume is one job is usually four different ones.

Airflow that has dropped off. Start with the filter, then the blower motor, then the ductwork. Typically the far rooms give up first while the ones nearest the air handler stay fine.

Cycling on and off every few minutes. Short cycling. The compressor takes the damage, but the cause sits elsewhere – controls, charge, or a unit that was oversized when it went in.

Noise that is new. A screech is usually a condenser fan bearing on its way out. Grinding comes from the blower. A single hard click and then nothing points at the contactor.

Water somewhere it should not be. Blocked condensate line, pan overflowing. A working float switch shuts the system down at that point. A failed one lets the water go through the ceiling instead.

Musty smell off the vents. Water sitting in the pan, or damp ductwork. The smell arrives well before anything visible does.

The house is cold and still damp. Usually oversizing – the unit hits setpoint and shuts down before it has run long enough to strip moisture out of the air.

Four Things Worth Checking First

Two minutes, four checks. A fair number of calls end with us charging nothing because one of them was the whole problem, and we would rather you found that out before paying for a visit.

Breakers. There are usually two – one for the air handler, one for the condenser. A tripped breaker and a dead compressor look identical from inside the house.

Thermostat. COOL, not AUTO, not FAN. Setpoint three degrees under the room. Then check the batteries.

Filter. Hold it up to a window. If light does not come through it, that may be the entire fault, and a starved coil ices over from exactly this.

Drain pan. If it has filled, the float switch has done its job and cut the system. Empty it and many systems come straight back.

Still warm after all four? Then it is a real fault and it needs a technician. Call 954-787-4164 – that is where AC repair Fort Lauderdale FL properties need becomes a service call rather than a checklist.

Choosing an AC Company Fort Lauderdale Owners Trust

Search HVAC Fort Lauderdale FL and the results run long – national brands, franchises and one-truck operations, none of them easy to tell apart from a website. Picking an HVAC contractor Fort Lauderdale owners keep calling back is the harder part.

Three checks sort them out faster than reading twenty websites. Any air conditioning company Fort Lauderdale residents shortlist should clear all three.

Run the licence number. Florida publishes every HVAC certification through the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, searchable in about a minute. Ours is CAC057413. Any HVAC company Fort Lauderdale surfaces on a search page should hand one over without hesitating.

Both insurances, not one. Liability covers your property. Workers’ compensation covers the person on your roof. Missing either and an accident becomes your problem.

Written number before anyone starts. Verbal estimates drift. Written ones do not.

How we measure against them:

CAC057413, insured. Searchable in the DBPR register in under a minute, which is more than most HVAC companies Fort Lauderdale returns will offer you.
79 systems priced online. Model numbers, tonnage, efficiency, cost. Air conditioning companies Fort Lauderdale ranks first almost never publish a figure - ours sit in a catalog anyone can open before calling.
Two numbers on every borderline job. Fix it or replace it, both priced, with the case for each. That is not how most AC companies Fort Lauderdale lists handle it.
American Standard Customer Care Dealer.

AC Installation Fort Lauderdale: Sizing Comes First

Every air conditioning installation Fort Lauderdale owners hire us for begins with a load calculation rather than the label on the old unit.

Copying whatever tonnage came out is the shortcut everyone takes, and this close to the water it costs you. Too much capacity means the unit races to setpoint, shuts down, and never runs long enough to pull the humidity out. Seventy-four on the display, and the place still feels like a basement. The constant cycling wears the equipment on top of that.

Floor area, insulation, ceiling height, glazing and which way it faces. West-facing glass moves the answer further than most owners expect.

Condos and mid-rise buildings. A large part of HVAC installation Fort Lauderdale work is not a house at all – it is a unit with a closet-sized mechanical space, a shared roof and a building manager who needs notice. Access, noise and future serviceability get planned before anything is ordered, because a system nobody can reach for maintenance is a problem you inherit for fifteen years.

The regional floor for new equipment sits at 14.3 SEER2. With eight months of runtime a year, whatever you buy above that floor returns the difference faster in Broward than in most of the country.

Repair or replace? AC replacement Fort Lauderdale owners weigh against one more repair is mostly a question of age. Systems here last ten to fifteen years. Once a unit is past that and has failed twice in a season, the arithmetic stops favouring repair. R-22 settles it faster – US production ended in 2020, and a pound of what is left now costs more than most of the jobs it goes into. Air conditioning replacement Fort Lauderdale properties reach that point sooner than owners expect.

AC Maintenance Fort Lauderdale Systems Actually Need

Air conditioner service Fort Lauderdale systems need comes down to runtime: eight months a year against humidity that never fully drops, and salt air on anything within a few blocks of the Intracoastal.

An AC tune up Fort Lauderdale systems get annually means the condenser coil washed down, the drain line flushed, charge verified, terminals checked, capacitor put under load. AC maintenance Fort Lauderdale properties skip is the reason August calls exist.

A drain line takes ten minutes on a scheduled visit. The same line, discovered after it has gone through a ceiling, is a contractor and a drywall crew.

Salt Air and What It Does to Outdoor Equipment

Fort Lauderdale air conditioning within reach of the coast ages differently. Salt in the air attacks the aluminium fins and copper tubing on the outdoor coil, and corrosion cuts heat transfer long before anything visibly fails – the system runs longer for the same result and the electricity bill moves first.

Rinsing the outdoor coil with fresh water a few times a year slows it down. Beyond that, coil condition is part of what gets checked on every maintenance visit, because on a coastal property it is the component that decides how long the equipment lasts.

The Brands We Install in Fort Lauderdale

Six lines installed, every major brand serviced – including whatever the last contractor left behind.

Commercial HVAC in Fort Lauderdale

Commercial work – offices, storefronts, restaurants and mixed-use buildings. Rooftop packages, zoned controls, purification, and system design on new builds and fit-outs. Fort Lauderdale HVAC work on commercial property runs on a different clock than residential, and Fort Lauderdale AC service for a restaurant is scheduled around covers, not around us.

Paying for It

Nothing fails on schedule. Financing stretches to 36 months on approved credit, which turns an unplanned changeout into a line item rather than a lump sum.

Have a written quote from another company for the same system? We will beat it by 5%.

Current offers rotate through the year – worth checking before you book.

Where Else We Go

Fort Lauderdale sits in the middle of our service area, and the surrounding cities are covered from the same base in Pompano Beach.

Oakland Park – about 6 miles north
Pompano Beach – about 11 miles north, where our office is
Plantation – about 7 miles west
Sunrise – about 10 miles west
Davie – about 10 miles southwest
Hollywood – about 11 miles south

Within the city, we work from the beach to the western suburbs – Las Olas, Coral Ridge, Victoria Park, Rio Vista, Harbor Beach, Poinsettia Heights and the Galt Ocean Mile. A condo two blocks off the Intracoastal and a house out toward the Turnpike do not fail the same way or on the same schedule. AC repair Ft Lauderdale FL properties need on the barrier island is a different job from the same call inland.

Case Study: Commercial AC Installation in Fort Lauderdale, Broward County

When a commercial AC system fails, productivity and comfort can drop fast–especially in South Florida. We were called to a commercial property in Fort Lauderdale’s Cypress Creek business district to complete a heavy-duty AC installation built for consistent cooling in an active office environment.

To meet the demands of the workspace, we installed a robust American Standard commercial condenser selected for reliability and performance. The project required careful planning and precision: the unit was safely hoisted into position and set on a reinforced concrete pad, then connected to commercial-grade 3-phase electrical lines. After installation, we pressure-tested and verified system operation to ensure dependable cooling across the entire workspace.

The result is a strong, commercial-ready setup designed to keep the building comfortable and operations running smoothly.
